⋱ measure language learning progress
- words (or sentences) mastered, by some definition
- challenges (or tests): something specific that the learner can pass or fail
- grammar sources, blog posts or book chapters they have worked through
- native language content (e.g. videos) that they can understand
- goals: measurable milestones, maybe set by the learners themselves
- time invested
- official standards (e.g. CEFR) the learner can prove
- output measures, such as words written, or minutes spent in conversation with native speakers
